White Lightning T-shirt
Saw this shirt and just had to post. There is another shirt that has a microphone in the middle, but I think there was a hidden meaning on that, so I didn’t post.
Let’s just enjoy the look and feel of Vinyl. Thanks to White Lightning for the laugh.
I went to college for music education. One of my classes was conducting. I had worked on many songs and understand how to conduct. But now you can do it via your iPhone.
Bravo Gustavo is the conductor of the LA Philharmonic. A pretty active conductor, it’s always been fun to watch him. So when I heard about this iPhone app, I was intrigued.
The program is simple: You pick the song and you either tap the screen or wave it in the air like a baton. As you do that, the song progresses. The program comes with 2 songs (or at least parts of the songs) and you can purchase more.
I have to admit, I was disappointed with this application. While I didn’t expect the world from this, I did expect it would work a little better. It really doesn’t show people how to conduct at all. If anything, it’s just an application of pictures and music.
If you don’t know the music, you can get lost in the clip provided. I ended up using the “4 finger tap” method, which sped up the song immensely. I think if I did that for my orchestra, they would coup.
At least the application was free….
Ever want to talk like that cute little garbage can from Star Wars?
The R2D2 translator is your new found friend! Just type in the fun message, and hear what our busy little droid says! You can even save it as an MP3, and put it on your phone! How cool is that?!
Now, if we could just get a Yoda translator, all the universe would be in sync!
This is just as great as when I saw the Looney Tunes version of the Barber of Seville. Of course, it’s Andrea Vadrucci doing it. For those that don’t know, Keith Moon was the drummer of the Who.
Check out the YouTube video on all Vadrucci’s work
I need your help. I am participating in a contest to become a part of the Panasonic Living in HD contest. I posted a video (shown below), but I need those of you to vote for me in the contest.
This contest could mean a lot for how Geekazine produces content. More information to the site, more opportunities to review and discuss new technologies.
Please visit and vote at: Living in HD – Why it’s important to me, Jeffrey Powers of Geekazine
Well, if you cannot get enough of the 1982 hit “I Ran (So Far Away)”, then I have some good news for you. There is a disc out there with 12 remixes by the Angry Kids.
Thomas and I went journeying to the local used bookstore to find this gem. It reminded me of the 12 Stairways. But this time with a techno feel and a 80′s tune.
The Angry Kids also have worked on some other artists, like:
The Angry Kids vs. Bob Marley – Mr. Brown
The Angry Kids vs. The Lives of Famous Men – Annie Taylor (**coming soon**)
The AK-3 – Something You Feel
The Angry Kids – The Way Of Life
Here we are talking about the 12 tracks.

Internet Leaks by Weird Al
We love the Weird Al. We even love the Weird Al Wiki page. I met him back in 1994 on his Fat tour. Since then I have seen him 4 times, not counting the 2 years I stalked him and sent waffles as care packages.
With the recent invention of the Interweb, Weird Al has been able to put out parodies almost days after the original song hits the airwaves. He even mentioned that it was cool to put out a song while the original was still climbing the charts.
His recent album – Internet Leaks – is a collection of 5 songs he put out on the web first. They include:
1. Whatever You Like (October 8, 2008)
2. Craigslist (June 16, 2009)
3. Skipper Dan (July 14, 2009)
4. CNR (August 4, 2009)
5. Ringtone (August 21, 2009)
CNR was a Jib-Jab video in where you can put your own face into the video. I personally love Craigslist – a parody of any Jim Morrison song. Only thing missing was a bad trip on a hallucinogenic and an Indian.
Otherwise, Brilliant!
Select from several sabers, from Padawan Anakin to Darth Vader to Count Dukoo! Click, drag, click to ignite and you are now using the Jedi’s legendary weapon of choice!
Not as clumsy as the Blaster simulator, but not quite as endearing as a Laser Whip to the arse!
Definetly one of the webs most incredibly weird sites!

Evil Dead the Musical
I just saw this on TV last week. Of course it was network television, so a lot was cut out. Not with the chainsaw.
For those in the DC area, you will be able to get to see the Live musical of this cult classic at the Landless Theatre. Based on Sam Raimi’s 80s cult classic films, Evil Dead The Musical tells the tale of 5 college kids who travel to a cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an evil force.
Evil Dead the Musical runs from October 7 through November 1
O.K. I was not digging the other theme so I made up a new one. This is the new direction I am taking for the sites – different looks and different feels.
I am starting a new website called AppWild. It’s not up yet, so I won’t post links. But this will add to the portal along with Geekazine, Dorkazine, TVazine and Dayintechhistory.
ITM – hope you like the new theme. Let me know if you do or don’t so I can improve on it.
This is a wild little picture. Nailchick27 painted some nails with a Mario Brothers 3 theme. There are several different nail paintings with difference parts of the NES game. Mario, Raccoon Mario, frog Mario and a whole lot more.
While I just shave my nails down with a grinder, you might want to grow yours long and paint scenes on them. This will definitely give you some ideas in what you want to paint. Thanks Nailchick27 for the insight.
