This is what happens at the Bellagio in Las Vegas every 15 minutes. They put on a great water show. It’s only 5 minutes long, but a lot of fun. Best part is the water vapor in the air instantly cools down the 90+ degree weather. Here is a taste…
In this case, think “Little Bunny Foo Foo“. The line used to go:
Little Bunny Foo Foo hopping through the forrest – Picking up the field mice and BOP them on the head.
The line got changed (for P.C.) to:
Little Bunny Foo Foo hopping through the forrest – Picking up the field mice and KISS them on the head
Of course, let’s not talk about the irony that the Fairy Godmother comes from the sky to scold Little Bunny Foo Foo for Kissing field mice. The line just doesn’t work. Further, it is too extreme.
So back to the Muppets. If you prefer the Political Correct version of Little Bunny Foo Foo, then you might not want to watch this video. For the rest of us, I have a feeling this Muppet Video will become viral fast…
It’s a remake of the classic “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King. The YouTube Video can be found here
I was in the Denver Airport overnight. Missed a connecting flight because of “Weather issues”. There was more to it than that. Still, I took the opportunity to document the evening in this video short. The full description of what happened can be found on Geekazine.
Jem Stansfield is a British scientist that answered the question: How much can a Vacuum really suck?
Using 2 modified Vacuum cleaners, Jem built giant suction cups that could hold his weight. Once he strapped it to his back, he was able to climb a wall in Essex up to 30 feet.
“I came across the idea for the vacuum cleaners when I was doing a challenge to make superhuman powers out of junk. I worked out the vacuum cleaners could support my weight,” – Interview from the Telegraph
Spiderman? Wouldn’t he be more like Doctor Octopus? After all, Doc-Oc had the special arms to climb walls. Unfortunately, Jem only has 2 arms, so that would make him Doc-Oc divided by 4.
It might also make him the next “Bill Nye – Science Guy”. He is planning his next feat – driving a car from London to Manchester using Coffee Beans for fuel. Juan Valdez would be proud.
The Muppets have been revitalizing their franchise with a whole host of new videos. The new videos are modern and really use technology in a different way.
Take this example: Beaker’s Ballad. Beaker is sitting around strumming the Guitar when he starts playing Kansas’ “Dust in the Wind”. At this point you think it’s pretty lame and want to turn it off.
But just as you are about to hit the “Stop” button, something happens. I won’t say what, but that is what makes this video hilarious.
So without any further “Mee-mee”, mee-mee-mee, mee-mee mee… um – here is Beaker’s Ballad:
This is the craziest innovation I have seen in a while. It’s a clock – but instead of having ticking hands, there is a guy behind the glass with a marker changing the time every minute by hand. Every minute passes and he erases the markings, then re-draws the new time.
Only thing is – there is no man behind the clock.
I suppose there WAS a man doing this, but it was in front of a camera. He must’ve taken a few hours doing nothing but drawing lines around the face of the clock.
So what you are seeing is a computer video of a guy drawing lines. Pretty cool, eh? Makes me think of how easy it would be to do that…
By the way – this clock was on display at Design Miami during Art Basel Miami Beach 2009.
Would you get upset if you were Re-gifted? Re-Gifting is taking a gift you were given and giving it to someone else. Sometimes a Re-Gift is also known as a “White Elephant“. This dates back to Southeast Asian monarchs.
Rules for RE-Gifting
There was a ture Urban Legend about brothers-in-law (Roy and Larry) who RE-Gifted Moleskin pants. They did it for 25 years, back and forth. Only difference is the idea around the wrapping. Creativity was the key. One year the pants were encased in a 1974 Gremlin. The packaging got more creative, but the game ended apbruptly in 1989 when the packaging – an elaborate glass sculpture – went awry and the pants were turned to ash.
I have purchased a few cool things from ThinkGeek. I had the marble roller coaster and I have definitely bought t-shirts from them. They have gone out of the box to make shirts that do more than just ‘be worn’.
The Electric guitar shirt, for example, let’s you play music. It’s simplistic in nature, but just like anything, if you put your mind to it, you will be able to create a masterpiece. Something that will make the world stop for a second.
O.K, maybe that’s a ways away. But for now, check out the Think Geek band playing “I Love Rock n Roll” using the shirt. There’s also a drum one. If you want to buy me a shirt, i am more native to that….
I was on the Caffination Backchannel when I saw this one. The best part about this movie trailer is that the foam rubber suits and limited movement of the mouths could make you believe the Turtles were actually passing the dialogue in the sound clip. Mix in a little Turtle fight scenes and you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
Of course this is the 1990 movie that had Corey Feldman as the voice of Donatello. The movie, of course, is about how they came to be so they can battle the evil “Shredder”. Meanwhile, Reservoir Dogs is a 1992 movie about 7 strangers coming together to commit the “perfect” crime.
There is a six degrees of separation in this: both films were edited by Sally Menke.
OK, so I created this for the 5 Tech Things you should know – but it was so dorky, I thought I would post it on it’s own. So for your viewing pleasure: The Geico Eyes Pilot.
Well this is interesting. Christopher Walken was on the BBC show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. During his segment, Walken pulled out another gem as he decided to recite the first verse of Lady Gaga’s “Pokerface”.
Props to Christopher Walken. He can make anything cooler. Now if we had some cowbell in that….
If you’ve never seen the Xaio Xaio series, then you are in for a treat. The stick figure fight is on baby! These have been around for a long time by Zhu. Check out the whole series here. In the meantime, here is Xaio Xaio 3 – which is my favorite.
