A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….

In 1976, Star Wars was released in theatres. A movie about a young boy who learns the ways of the force to fight the Empire. It was also a movie that inspired many in different ways.

Since then we’ve seen 6 episodes, an animated movie, a couple Television shows and a few games. But out of all the movies, Episode IV - A New Hope is probably the most prevailant.

Now it’s time to see this movie in a whole new light. The ASCII light. ASCII is simply using text characters and turn them into a picture.

In Star Wars ASCIIMATION, Simon Jansen took the whole movie and reshot it using ASCII. Well, not reshot it, more like re-coded it. Complete with fast forward and reverse buttons, you can watch it at your own speed.

Then again, you can just use the force.
