Y’know, just the other day I was having this conversation at my day job with co-workers. Can you get fired by posting something online? Specifically social network sites like Facebook?

Well, British Airways suspended 15 cabin crew members because they allegedly posted inappropriate comments on their Facebook pages.

About a dozen cabin crew have been suspended while investigations are being carried out. The suspensions had to do with a number of reasons, including inappropriate comments the staffers posted online.

BA is locked in a long-standing dispute with cabin crew over issues including wages, job security and working conditions. The union has called for a strike vote by members. 15 flight attendants allegedly wrote Facebook comments and sent private emails about a “name and shame” list of pilots who volunteered to help break any strike.

The airline has also demanded that unions reveal the identities of a further 32 members of the cabin crew who posted messages about the list on a thread on its discussion forum.

The wave of suspensions began last weekend, after one cabin crew worker acquired a list of 40 pilots who had volunteered to work as cabin stewards should a strike be called. That worker posted a message on a Facebook page saying they had the list, and asking others what should they do with it.

Those under investigation received calls from airline management, ordering them to attend meetings at the crew report center. Those meetings have resulted in 17 suspensions so far, it is believed. Some of those suspended insist they had not read the Facebook message, nor replied to it. Others, who were not Facebook friends, say they were suspended because someone else had messaged news of the list to them through Facebook. So, most were suspended on the basis of guilt by association.

On the whole, it is an obvious witch hunt. However, it does give one an idea of just how careful you should be on websites like Facebook. This story is only the latest example of how social networking, blogs and the internet can be your undoing in the workplace.

Not a big Guacamole fan, but I would get behind this: Robert Saccenti put together a bowl for his favorite food -  Guacamole. Actually, this was for the infamous GuacBowl 09 – a contest to build the best condiment dipper.

The official Guacamole Bowl 09 logo[/caption]

There were 32 entries, but Robert took top honors with his Carbonite – turned Guacamole Han Solo. Greedo would have been proud. In fact, maybe that is what he said to Solo in the Cantina instead of “Going Somewhere Solo?” Maybe it was: “I am going to capture you so Jabba can turn you into a cool new bowl to eat chips and watch the Pittsburg Steelers pummel the Arizona Cardnals”.

Within Robert’s Blog Post, he said he found master special effects makeup artist Bill Forsche, who had a sculpt of the face. The body was simply a mannequin torso he bought – Although it looks like Solo got a small cosmetic surgery before being encased.

50 Avacados, lots of chicken wire, Redwood boards and a little Bondo later, the Carbonite Han Solo Guacamole Bowl was created. Pretty tasty. Although I suggest he build partitions for Salsa, Sour Cream, Jalapenos, black Olives, Cheese and meat. Yummy, yummy.

Wonder what Neil Patrick Harris has been doing in between “Harold and Kumar” movies and reprising his role as Doogie Howser for Old Spice? Well, not only has he been in “How I Met Your Mother”, he also stars in the role of “Doctor Horrible” in the Web Event “Doctor Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”.

The Website is aptly named “Doctor Horribles Sing-Along Blog”.Directed by Joss Wheden (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Titan A.E.) the web event stars Harris along with Nathan Fillion (Desperate Housewives and.. well.. Buffy), Felicia Day (Monk and yes…. Buffy) and Simon Helberg (Evan Almighty, Van Wilder, but no Buffy).

Think of this as a Villains blog with the “Cop Rock” feel. Harris is the Arch Villain that likes Penny (Felicia Day) but is constantly foiled in evildoings as well as love by Captain Hammer (Nathan Fillion). It is a musically filled show about love, hate and conflict. It is all told through Dr. Horribles’ Video Blog.

The show, in 3 acts, is found at http://www.drhorrible.com and the blog is at http://doctorhorrible.net/. The Acts are being hosted by Hulu, but you might want to view it soon for they are only up for a limited time.

The show is a little cheezy but is also entertaining. I especially like the “Cowboy Chorus” that shows up from time to time. Should be a fun excursion, especially if you are into Superheros and Musicals.
