She isn’t The Oracle in Batman, but a woman who was watching the sunset on a tourist webcam in northern Germany spotted a man lost on the frozen North Sea! She alerted the authorities and probably saved his life!

The man had become disoriented, after climbing over pack ice off the coast of St. Peter-Ording, to photograph the sunset. The man began using his camera to flash for help, when he was unable to locate the beach.

Hundreds of miles away in southern Germany, the woman watching the same sunset saw the frantic man on her computer. She then contacted the authorities, who guided the man, a German tourist, to shore by flashing their car lights.

Had he not been found, the man would have frozen to death on the ice.

The webcam images are routinely erased, so the dramatic flashes from the man’s camera were not saved before the story came to light.

What time is it, Mr Fox? Well, now you can find out just by going to http://billychasen.com/clock/. And the best part is you can see people contorted in ways that you haven’t since high school.

It’s a simple flash script that displays a clock as done by Billy Chasen. He is an artist that takes science and technology to different levels as he turns them into art. The “Exploded iPod” encased in resin and the LCD monitor visualization fish tank are a couple creations.

Billychasen.com is his website.

If you like eggs, then you might like this little ditty. It’s called “I Love Egg – the Egg Song”. It was put out by Iloveegg.com, a subsidiary to the D&H company. Basically it’s a site to show kids how cool eggs are. They have a full marketing campaign with diaries, notepads and more. Of course the site is in Korean, so trying to decypher is a little harder. Nonetheless, it’s an interesting Flash video – which we link to below.

I remember when Jib Jab started. The videos were really choppy but the content was fun and rang true. The site is political humor and it is hilarious.

I would say the mainstream started to catch this site in 2004 with a little short called “This Land is Your Land”. I remember it because our whole office was downloading it and the higher ups had to send out an email asking people not to do so. The short had George Bush and John Kerry singing the popular Woody Guthrie song while cutting down the other candidate.

Since then the productions have gotten a lot better. The Latest one “Time for some Campaignin” is the same idea as “This Land”, but it really looks like a lot of time has been put into the quality.

Best part about it is they now have a feature where you can insert your own face into the video. Just check out who shows up in this one below….
