Well, kids. We’ve all heard the stories. TV shows like the 4400 and movies like Independence Day talk about it. Now you can get abducted by aliens in the comfort of your own home. It’s the Alien Abduction Lamp!
This desk lamp is molded like a saucer-style spaceship and it’s beaming a cow from the ground. The best part is it’s energy efficient. Using LED technology, the beam will light up, the cockpit of the spaceship will glow either green or yellow and there are even glow-in-the-dark aliens in the cockpit.
The cow is apparently removable from the lamp. You could get creative that way, I suppose. Put a Star Wars figure in there, maybe a picture of a friend or family member.
The lamp is made by Tiger Global Limited and can be found at Abductionlamp.com. The website itself is pretty cool, for if you grab the ole red-blue 3D glasses, you can enable the 3D page and see the images pop out at you.
Right now it looks like the lamp is only available in the UK, Germany or Australia. But I would guess the invasion will happen in the US pretty shortly. So get ready to run.
Price is £63.97 – about $94.502881 US.
One of my favorite sites for finding great dorky stuff is Like Cool.
A sweet weblog with pictures and video of some of the coolest stuff out there!
From gadgets to home stuff to Entertainment, if it screams awesome to you, it is here!
Looking for a cool clock? Want to see what Darth Vader was oriinally going to look like? DJ Cassette tape scratcher? Yeah, they got it!
Another great site for cool is Epic Win! If you have seen ‘Failblog’ then this, my friend, is the yin to it’s yang!
Just a couple of fun sites for web-surfing, time-wasting fun!
Adidas, the big shoe apparel company, is poised to take their product lines to new heights!
First, there is the ‘Star Wars’ themed line. It features shoes based on such icons from Darth Vader and princess Leia, to the enigmatic AT-ATs. There are also hoodies, track tops and tees. The force is with you, and available now, fanatic!
AND, if you are the kind of person who’s willing to shell out upwards of $100 for those, might I interest you in a game shoe?
No, not Basketball!
Adidas is also bringing the sneaker into the 21st century with it’s augmented reality device! Forget the Wii, Adidas has created a virtual 3-D world that can be accessed through specially fitted shoes.
The user goes to the Adidas web site and hold up the sneaker to a web cam. In the tongue is an embedded code, and a virtual world pops up, which can be controlled by the shoe!
The shoes will be available in February, and new games are in development.
Maxwell Smart never had it so good!
So I got emailled these. I am not sure where they came from – although there was thought they may have originated from College Humor.
Still, this makes me think – Who has the time to put this together. Better yet, who is the ingenious person that took the time. Or even more – Where is Leia’s Facebook profile and can I be her friend.
What other Facebook profiles can you imagine? Star Trek? Gremilins? Good Times? William Katt from Greatest American Hero is on Facebook – Check out what he says.
In the meantime, here are the posts. Pretty friggin hillarious.
Ever want to talk like that cute little garbage can from Star Wars?
The R2D2 translator is your new found friend! Just type in the fun message, and hear what our busy little droid says! You can even save it as an MP3, and put it on your phone! How cool is that?!
Now, if we could just get a Yoda translator, all the universe would be in sync!
Select from several sabers, from Padawan Anakin to Darth Vader to Count Dukoo! Click, drag, click to ignite and you are now using the Jedi’s legendary weapon of choice!
Not as clumsy as the Blaster simulator, but not quite as endearing as a Laser Whip to the arse!
Definetly one of the webs most incredibly weird sites!
I don’t try and post 2 videos within 2 days, but when I saw this I was so impressed, it was an epitome of a Dork. These four… eh… one guy does the best A Capella version. Um.. wait – someone has done this already? The same group? Oh.
There are a lot of different A Capella videos here. Check them out. It includes a video by one Chris Pirillo and a little black dot. Great addition to your YouTube Subscription.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….
In 1976, Star Wars was released in theatres. A movie about a young boy who learns the ways of the force to fight the Empire. It was also a movie that inspired many in different ways.
Since then we’ve seen 6 episodes, an animated movie, a couple Television shows and a few games. But out of all the movies, Episode IV – A New Hope is probably the most prevailant.
Now it’s time to see this movie in a whole new light. The ASCII light. ASCII is simply using text characters and turn them into a picture.
In Star Wars ASCIIMATION, Simon Jansen took the whole movie and reshot it using ASCII. Well, not reshot it, more like re-coded it. Complete with fast forward and reverse buttons, you can watch it at your own speed.
Then again, you can just use the force.
